Spring Fishing Amelia Island FL
By Captain Allen
Early spring the water starts warming up in the sixty’s and the whiting and blue crabs moving in along the jetty’s and river system. The whiting are a good food source for the red fishing and the black drum love blue crabs. The reds will be running from 5 to 30 lbs. and March and April the Black Drum will be running 15 to 60lbs.
April and May the Pogy pod will be along the beaches and this will bring in the cobia and BIG schools of reds like the one that Tom and Jack are casting to off the front of The Wahoo ll (school of hundreds of Bull reds). This is the time of the year we do the best sight casting to the reds, cobia and sharks. So Quit Wishin Let’s go Fishin!!!
