July Fishing on Amelia Island FL
By Captain Allen
This past week the fishing is fired up. With the fresh water from Debbie moving out it has pushed the mullet to the inlets. The jetty’s fishing is awesome with the best catch last week aboard The Wahoo with Capt. Billy the first Tarpon for the fleet, Robert holding up this nice 80lbs Tarpon caught chumming along the jetties. We are also catching cobia and lots of red fish like the ones Nick and his sons caught today. Behind the shrimp boats about 5 miles out we are catching lots of big sharks from 40lbs to 160 lbs. black tip and Lemon sharks.
Offshore we are starting to catch some nice kingfish and Bonita’s we are also still bottom fishing and catching some big snapper and keeper grouper. The sea bass are still nice 14 inches and bigger.
