Fly Fishing Amelia Island FLA.

By Captain Allen

The backwater of Amelia Island is fired up. With the water temperature in the low sixty’s the red fish are grouping up in large schools of anywhere from ten to twenty in a grouper. The low tide and first two hours is the best time to see them working the banks and mudflats. We are catching them with a clouser fly green or black has been the best for me this week. We are also catching them on jigs and live shrimp throwing them about three feet in front of the school. We are catching the trout on the high water along curve in the rivers and along grass areas and points are a must to throw to. Quit Wishing Let’s go Fishing
