Fishing the Amelia River

The fishing this past week and the upcoming weeks in the Amelia River is alive with trout and lots more. This past week we have caught some big trout like the one Joan is holding they loved live shrimp using a float rig. Fishing in the back of the sound we caught some Bonnet head sharks on light tackle and what a fight from one end of the boat to the other and back again. Fishing along the oyster beds the sheepshead where chewing. Fishing along the Amelia River we also caught flounder and more trout lots of under size but did catch the limit. At the jetty the Bull Reds are still biting along with whiting and puppy drum. With the weather this time of the year the Amelia River and the inshore fishing is the best.
