Coming up in March the near shore fishing will be the best because the whiting are moving in the rivers already. We have been catching some puppy drum at the jetties up to 8 to 14lbs and in the rivers as well. The big black drum will be following the whiting in on the beach and up the rivers. The black drum get up to 60 to 90lbs. The bull reds school with the drum as well. With the water temperature already in the low 60’s the Spanish and blue will not be far behind. This is a great time for a family fishing trip, there is a fish for all anglers small blues and drum for the little ones and the black drum and bull reds for the big guys. Quit wishin Let’s go Fishin!!!

This weekend was the perfect time to take a kid fishing. The backwater fishing is awesome this time of the year with the cooler water temperature the red fish group up in schools of up to twenty fish in a pod. You can see the school working an oyster bed and the mud bank. You throw about three feet in front of them and if your luck you land a nice red fish like the ones Tom and Noah are holding. Around the docks you can catch some nice sheepshead and reds like the ones Robbie and Travis is holding. If you get a chance take a kid fishing and they will remember if for a life time. You can book your trip on line any time.

Fishing over the holidays was awesome. The weather was the best you could ask for calm seas and warm temperatures. The offshore bite was great grouper, big flounder like this that Micah Sheridal caught 5 lbs. and lots of sea bass and snapper released. We also had a Great White Shark come up to the back of the boat and put on a show. It was over 16ft long and would eat anything he wanted and they love sea bass.

The inshore fishing is fired up, the trout are in all the rivers and the reds are feeding on the mud flats on the first of the incoming. We are catching some nice sheepshead on the docks and at the jetty’s.

The backwater of Amelia Island is fired up. With the water temperature in the low sixty’s the red fish are grouping up in large schools of anywhere from ten to twenty in a grouper. The low tide and first two hours is the best time to see them working the banks and mudflats. We are catching them with a clouser fly green or black has been the best for me this week. We are also catching them on jigs and live shrimp throwing them about three feet in front of the school. We are catching the trout on the high water along curve in the rivers and along grass areas and points are a must to throw to. Quit Wishing Let’s go Fishing

You have only a few more weeks that we can keep the grouper but the sheepshead are open all years.
With the cooler weather and water temp coming down in the high sixty’s the trout are schooling up and turn on. We headed out on a four hour trip in the back water with three anglers. First spot off of the wind and the reds where chewing eating live shrimp and green grabs. We caught ten reds and eight out of the ten where keepers and we release then all. We caught about forty five trout and we had the limit of five each out of the forty five keep five for my neighbor. We went throw 120 shrimp had a great afternoon. The backwater fishing is the best fishing this time of year and the trout, flounder and reds are some of the best eating as well. Quit Wishing Let’s go Fishin!!!
