May 1st the opening of GROUPER cant wait!! The spring early spring is great time to fish Black Drum around the Jetty’s and the red fish too. Off shore we are catching Black sea bass and releasing lots of red snapper. The cobia are moving in on the offshore reefs and structure. Mid May they should me on the Beaches and in the bait pods. we are also catching some nice flounder too, add carb meat and a glass of wine and you will have dinner time. Quit Wishin Let’s go Fishin!!
Fall fishing is some of the best backwater fishing in Northeast Florida. With the water temperature dropping in the 60s degrees the trout reds and puppy drum are turning on. Fishing with live shrimp on float rigs is a sure way to succeed. We are landing trout up to 5lbs and more. The puppy drum are chewing on dead shrimp on the bottom. The reds are hitting cut crab on the bottom too.
Offshore Bottom fishing is great when the weather lets us get offshore. The seabass are fired up and we are starting to catch some gag grouper as well. There is lots of snapper to pull on for a good fight but must release. Quit Wishin Lets go Fishin111
Early spring the Black drum is moving in around the Jetties and rivers. The black Drum are the largest fish in the drum family, they can get to over one hundred pounds. The red drum is running this time of the years as well and get up to as big as 40 lbs.
The shrimp boats will start working in the spring as well and that means CHUM MACHINE lots of different fish coming up behind the boats to feed like this Black tip shark that’s over 100 lbs. The most exciting fishing time is in the spring, we sight fish for Cobia and Big jack Cralle’s using top water plugs and jigs. If you think a 4lb bass is awesome hitting a top water plug try a 60LBS cobia hitting a chug bug come get you some of that. This is a short time of the year to catch the fish on top water. The best time is April and May so Quit Wishin Let’s go Fishin!!! Book you trip to day
We are looking forward to later summer and early full fishing on Amelia. The tarpon are showing up like this 50lbs we leased, they will be running anywhere from 40 lbs. to 200lbs. the best fishing for the Tarpon is around the jetty’s and in the pogie pods. We are also catching nice red fish like this triple header we release. The flounder are running as well like this one 4.5 lbs. This year we are catching some big tiger sharks like the one John is holding. Behind the shrimp boat the black tips are chewing like the one Travis is holding for Alex. We are also catching some small Atlantic Sharp noise like the one Breanna caught. The jacks are running in the pogie pods like the ones the boys are holding. The best fishing this time of year is near shore not a lot of running time and more catching so Quit Wishin let’s go Fishin !!!

Early spring is great for Black Drum like the ones Chip and Drain are holding. Caught aboard The Wahoo with Capt. Billy on 3-20-2015. The black Drum will be running until late April and can get up to over 100lbs. The whiting are running and are great pan fish. The red bass are coming in with the Black Drum and are schooling up in groups of 20 in the bait pods. April and May the Cobia will be running in the pogy pods, as well, and are great for sight fishing. The next three months are the best to take a kid fishing so Quit Wishin Let’s go Fishin!!!
This year we had three weekends open to keep snapper. We had an awesome time with the snappers, we limited out every trip with six to eight snapper on six hour trips. We released over two hundred fish from 5 inches to twenty five inches. One of the best catches was a double header with the Southwells father daughter catch 22 and 24lbs snapper. The biggest fish for the season was this 27.5 snapper caught by Allen. Here is Dan and Perry hold two nice snapper and a 22lbs gag grouper. Tray holding a mule snapper and on the last day Raff hold a nice 20lbs snapper. We had some get trips and looking forward to next years
The fishing in June is looking good. The offshore fishing we are catching Cobia and some nice grouper with black sea bass mixed in the catch along with trigger fish, all this is bottom fishing. On the top (trolling) we are starting to catch Kingfish, cudas and the cobia as well. The amberjacks are showing up on the wrecks and rock plies.
In the sound and jetty’s we are catching some nice red fish along the jetty’s and cobia too. Behind the shrimps the Black tip and Dusky are on fire. We are catching some whiting and flounder and sea bass too.
